A Summer Camp-Themed Wedding at Crystal Springs Resort Highlighted by Electic Fringe Décor and Lush Tropical Flowers
• HAMBURG, NEW JERSEY
THE VISION
This summer camp-themed wedding at Crystal Springs Resort featured candy-colored tropical wedding flowers, mismatched vaseware, and bold shades of orange, purple, and green, with fringe-adorned flowers tying the eclectic design together. As the wedding florist, our studio designed lush florals and created custom hand-dyed fringe chandeliers to elevate the reception, transforming the space into a one-of-a-kind celebration.

THE BOUQUET
Inspired by the bride’s soft, draped Chana Marelus gown, the cascading bridal bouquet mimicked its flowing lines with lush amaranthus, a trending flower that added structure to the shape. Typically not used in bridal designs due to its weight, the amaranthus helped create the cascading effect, paired with whimsical Japanese vines and hand-strung orchid buds we affectionately thought resembled ballerina feet. The bouquet blended garden-inspired flowers like locally grown hellebore and lisianthus with tropical elements such as gloriosa and cymbidium orchids, creating a structural contrast to the loose, dripping effect.
THE CEREMONY
Inspired by the bride’s vision for a design that felt as if it had always belonged there, we looked to one of our favorite design trends: the overgrown, wild look where nature reigns. To match our immediate surroundings of the Crystal Springs Resort garden ceremony location, we used wild southern greenery vines and ferns to create a natural setting that would starkly contrast the dramatic clusters of birds of paradise, chartreuse celosia, gloriosa and allium. Amaranthus, a key focal flower, added a loose, cascading effect, completing the design with its loose, dripping movement that blew in the wind.
THE RECEPTION
While it’s impossible to highlight every custom detail, a few that truly stand out are the hand-painted Grecian busts decorated with glow-in-the-dark stickers, jars of candy at the bar, and caricature-themed menu cards—each a fun nod to the summer camp theme. Each table was uniquely styled with coordinating yet mismatched vaseware, handpicked by our team. Allium arrangements, inspired by croquembouche towers, took center stage, while candelabras were adorned with cascading amaranthus and custom hand-dyed ombré taper candles. Round tables featured elevated arrangements in sleek, brutalist-inspired vases, with vibrant heliconia continuing the dripping design. To tie the design together, the flowers were embellished with fringe, mirroring the fringe details of the custom ombré chandelier installation our studio designed and hand-dyed above the dance floor.
