• Brooklyn Botanic Garden Brooklyn, NY
A silk slip dress, pearled Jimmy Choos, whimsical Japanese vines, and symbolically long-stemmed calla lillies reimagined for a spring wedding at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden’s Atrium.
THE VISION
All-white weddings are timeless, but this seemingly classic vision changed my mind about one singular flower-the calla lily. The sleek and long-stemmed flowers hold profound meaning, symbolizing purity and devotion. By using hundreds of expressive stems, we drew inspiration from the outdoor gardens of the Brooklyn Botanic to revolutionize the traditional approach to calla lily design.

THE ceremony
The bride held a distinctive bouquet of elongated calla lilies, carefully hand-tied to evoke a sense of movement. Each stem was artfully manipulated to curve in a deliberately unrestrained manner, creating a dramatic effect to match her grand entrance down the aisle. Despite the rain on her wedding day, we adapted by converting the interior of the Brooklyn Botanic’s Atrium space into an indoor garden. The aisle and both sides of the altar were adorned with continuous arrangements emerging from the ground, filled lush seasonal foliage, garden roses, larkspur, delphinium and calla lilies.
THE cocktail hour
Guests entered the cocktail hour with a minimal display of gorgeously designed escort cards by Arni Paperie. To contrast the crisp white linens and stationery, we placed a centerpiece, arranged in a low ceramic bowl, full of blooming huckleberry foliage and syngonium leaves intertwined with Japanese stemmona vines. Cocktail hour highboy tables were adorned with gestural ikebana-inspired arrangements, brimming with sweetpeas.
THE reception
Every reception table featured a sizeable ikebana-inspired arrangement, filled with calla lilies, syngonium leaves, Japanese delphinium, anthurium and pennycress. The design aimed for an ethereal quality, achieved by combining these arrangements with three additional smaller ones composed solely of greenery and ivory taper candles in black holders. After the ceremony, the aisle arrangements were repurposed to encircle the interior space of the Atrium, creating a lush focal point around the sweetheart table.
• In their Words
Thank you for the beautiful arrangements - they were absolutely exquisite…I still can’t get over how beautiful the flowers were - incredible since they were carrying even more aesthetic weight because it was a rainy day and everything was inside. You are an artist and I am so grateful that you were apart of our wedding. I could not have wished for a better, more thoughtful partner for my wedding.
